Senior Coating Inspector - Fusion Bonded Epoxy

We are hiring a Coating Inspector for overseeing and managing all aspects of coating inspections and quality control activities In the Oil & Gas project site. This role involves ensuring that coating applications meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements to maintain the integrity and durability of protective coatings.

The duration of this job is for a short-term contract for 5 Months.

• Witness job from the client side and confirm on the Inspection of coating applications on various surfaces, including steel structures, pipelines, tanks, and equipment, to ensure compliance with project specifications, coating manufacturer recommendations, and applicable standards (e.g., NACE).
• Perform visual inspections, thickness measurements, adhesion tests and other quality control tests on coatings using appropriate inspection techniques and equipment.
• Verify Optical Flatness Test (OFT) and finished surface to ensure that painted surfaces meet specified quality standards and satisfy the expectations of clients.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on coating application techniques, surface preparation methods, coating selection, and troubleshooting of coating-related problems.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, documentation, and records of coating activities, including test results, observations, and recommendations for corrective actions or improvements.
• Participate in pre-inspection meetings, progress meetings, and project closeout activities to communicate findings, address concerns, and ensure that coating work meets project objectives and client expectations.
• Stay updated with industry developments, advancements in coating technologies, and changes in regulatory requirements related to coatings and corrosion protection.
• Mentor and train junior inspectors and coating personnel on inspection techniques, quality standards, and best practices in coating application and inspection.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism in all coating-related activities and interactions with project stakeholders.
• Oversee and ensure the proper application of paint systems compliant with the project specifications and industry standards,
• Confirm pre and current atmospheric conditions properly, to perform the jobs in the desired location.
• Understand the properties and characteristics of different blasting media and selecting the appropriate abrasive material to achieve the desired results in the applications.

• Bachelors / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Certification as a NACE Coating Inspector (Level 2) / BGAS level 2
• Mandatory experience in FBE coating on pipelines
• Priority will be given to candidates who have worked on the client side.
• 15+ years of relevant experience as painting coating inspector, pipe coating and NACE Level 2 / BGAS level 2
• Should have worked on Oil & Gas Projects, Qatar Gas Projects.
• Strong knowledge of coating materials, application methods, surface preparation techniques, and corrosion protection principles.
• Proficiency in interpreting coating specifications, standards, and technical drawings.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor settings.
