Job Overview:

As the Director of Agronomy, you will be instrumental in overseeing and optimizing our clients agronomic operations. The role involves developing and implementing comprehensive agronomic strategies, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality crops, and driving sustainable agricultural practices in line with the clients mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Agronomic Strategy Development:

• Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic strategies aligned with the clients organizational goals.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in agronomy.

Crop Management:

• Oversee crop planning, planting, cultivation, and harvest operations.
• Implement precision agriculture techniques to optimize crop yields and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper crop rotation and soil health management.

Sustainable Agriculture:

• Drive initiatives for sustainable farming practices, resource optimization, and environmental conservation.
• Implement and monitor integrated pest management (IPM) programs.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of agronomists, providing guidance on agronomic practices and professional development.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of agronomic strategies with overall farm operations.

Research and Development:

• Collaborate with research institutions and partners to conduct trials and experiments aimed at improving crop performance.
• Evaluate and implement innovative technologies and practices to enhance agronomic efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to agronomy and crop production.
• Stay informed about changes in agricultural policies and implement necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience.
• Strong understanding of agronomic principles, precision agriculture, and sustainable farming practices.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
• Professional agronomist certification would be an advantage.
• Profound experience with indoor growing environments.
• Extensive experience with data analytics and research.
• Demonstrated familiarity of industry trends, technology, and development.
• Readiness for intense physical activities.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and diagnostic scientific software.
