General Practitioner (Emergency Medicine)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Practitioner to join our Emergency Department team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care to patients presenting with acute conditions and emergencies. The GP will play a key role in triaging, diagnosing, and providing initial treatment in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:

Provide immediate and ongoing care to patients in the Emergency Department, including performing assessments, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of acute medical conditions.

• Triage and Assessment:

Assess and prioritize patients according to the severity of their conditions. Make quick, informed decisions regarding the urgency of treatment and interventions.

• Collaboration:

Work closely with the emergency medical team, including nurses, specialists, and consultants, to provide the best care for patients.

• Emergency Interventions:

Provide initial management and stabilization for patients in critical condition. Perform medical procedures within the GPs scope of practice as required.

• Medical Documentation:

Document all patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and procedures accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and legal requirements.

• Patient Education:

Provide patients and their families with information about their condition, treatment plan, and aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery and reduce the likelihood of readmission.

• Referral and Follow-up:

Refer patients to appropriate specialists or departments when necessary and coordinate follow-up care as needed.

• Emergency Protocols:

Stay informed about the latest emergency medical protocols and best practices. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competence in emergency medicine.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years post-MBBS experience
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities.
• Ability to perform emergency medical procedures.
• Knowledge of emergency protocols and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both with patients and the healthcare team.
