Learning Support Specialist

Provide instruction, remediation, andevaluation in didactic and clinical learning concepts, including patient-caresimulations.

Demonstrate comprehensive and up-to-dateknowledge of nursing concepts, competencies, and current practices toeffectively provide academic support to students.

Exhibit thorough knowledge of universityprograms and accurately communicate academic policies and regulations tostudents, ensuring they understand their academic requirements and options.

Demonstrate effective behaviors andaccountability in meeting standards of service excellence to students, fellowteam members, and external agencies.

Communicate and document studentsacademic progress to academic leadership.

Coordinate and supervise students duringlab experiences, providing individual guidance for practice and remediation oftechnical skills as requested by faculty and students.

Participate in the planning andscheduling of open lab utilization times to ensure availability, effectivecommunication, and appropriate resources.

Support the preparing and implementationof the learning support plans, programs, strategies, and actions in alignmentwith the University/College strategies for enhancing students learningexperiences and education.

Manage Learning Support social mediaaccounts, along with publicity and awareness campaigns.

Establish collaborative relationshipswith the Information Technology Services Directorate and other academicdepartments.

Supervise peer tutors, graduateassistants, and teaching assistants.

Establish constructive relationships withstudents, both individually and in groups, to assess their learning needs.

Analyze statistics and preparecomprehensive reports to inform the effectiveness of learning support activities.

Perform other tasks and dutiesthat may be required to meet the roles requirements and the aims of the collegeand University.

Qualifications

Education and certifications

Bachelors Degree in nursing from a reputable university.

Masters Degree in Nursing with a focus in Medical/Surgicalor Critical Nursing from a reputable university.

Active registered nurse license from home country orcountry of residency.

Eligibility for register nurse or an educator license fromQatars Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP), to be obtained within sixmonths of hiring.

Basic Life Support Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS CPR)required, ACLS preferred.

Languages

Excellent English is required.

Arabic is required.

Experience

Two years experience in an academic environment providingclassroom instruction or specialized tutoring support.

Has experience supervisingnursing students at clinical sites and has taught clinical courses within thelast five years of their professional experience.
