Commis

► A Comm is Chef work in the kitchen and generally assist the other chefs. You are expected to quickly learn the basics on the job. You will be expected to continue finding new ways to learn and develop your skills.

► Abide by company policy and procedures set forth in our Standard Operating Procedures.

► Show up on time, in uniform and clocked in for your scheduled shift.

► Come to work with a positive, can-do attitude.

► Maintain your composure with guests, co-workers, and supervisors at all times.

► Work with your other co-workers to cover each of the following stations:

► Comm is chefs assist station chefs in the kitchen.

► Help prepare ingredients and do any tasks the chef needs assistance with.

► Receive regular deliveries of fresh ingredients and put it in a proper storage area.

► Helping unpack deliveries helps you learn where everything goes and learn about the

► general running of a kitchen.

► Measure out ingredients for different recipes.

► Cutting and mixing of ingredients as well is also done by the comm is/ kitchen assistant.

► Check the ingredients needed and used before expiry date. (First in, first out procedure

► must be followed)

► Keeping the stations clean helps to reduce the chance of food contamination spreading

► and customers complaining of food poisoning.

► To maintain health and safety in the kitchen.

► To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and to wear the right uniform.
