HSE Lead

Job Objectives: Accountable for providing a leadership role within the company with respect to Qatalum Safe Operations, Qatalum HSE Management System and programs supporting the objectives of HSE Management system. Responsible to provide technical expertise, leadership and support in the general HSE discipline with a specific focus in the area of safety.

Job Description:

• Assist the Head of Safety to:
• • • Develop and promote a shared vision of safety and develop strategic directions within the safety function.
    • Ensure safety issues and practices are technically evaluated, rigorous and properly managed.
    • Provide innovative strategies & technology in preventive safety and safety management.
    • To develop and train HSSEQ Group personnel, Qatalum staff and management on relevant safety aspects
    • Identify, procure and monitor Personal Protective Clothing & Equipment.
• Lead plant safety audits and provide guideline to stablish actions to cover the gaps
• Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company safety practices considering national legislation and international best practice, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
• Coach the Organization on the implementation of HSE Management System.
• Support the Organization in the implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM)
• Follow of all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner from HSE standpoint.
• Conduct internal audits and maintain certification on ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 systems.
• Develop and promote HSE safety work practices and procedures
• Generate, analyze and communicate HSE performance reports.
• Support the development and training of National employees
• Assist the Head of Safety to develop and monitor safety budgets The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work to be performed. Minimum Qualification Required

• University Degree in relevant field
• Certification in Occupational Safety Required experience
• 6-8 years experience in similar position in an industrial environment, preferably in Aluminium Industry
• 1-2 years in Supervisory role Job Specific Skills
