Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crawler Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of operating crawler cranes safely, performing maintenance tasks, and adhering to workplace safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy lift crawler cranes to lift, position, and place loads accurately per project requirements.
- Operate crawler cranes under supervision and ensure safety through regular inspections.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance to maintain crane performance.
- Transport cranes to worksites and handle assembly/disassembly as per manuals.
- Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and job orders to execute lifting operations safely and efficiently.
- Accurately complete timesheets and maintain proper records.
- Coordinate with riggers, supervisors, and ground crew to ensure proper lifting procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and minor repairs to keep the crane in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and implement safe work practices.
- Always wear and maintain all required PPE.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Monitor site conditions, weather changes, and load stability to prevent accidents and ensure operational safety.
- Handle company tools and equipment responsibly.
- Report any mechanical issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the maintenance team immediately.
- Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and inspections.
- Train and mentor junior crane operators and riggers on best practices and safety measures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience operating mobile and crawler cranes in construction, oil & gas, or industrial environments.
- Valid Heavy Equipment/Crane Operator License (Sultanate of Oman, UAE, or equivalent international license).
- Proficiency in crane assembly and disassembly following manufacturer guidelines.
- Basic verbal English communication skills.
- Proven experience handling cranes with various tonnage capacities.
- Strong knowledge of lifting plans, rigging techniques, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with crane maintenance, troubleshooting, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging site conditions.
